I got Pippin when she was the size of my hand and even though she was a tiny little runt she had the biggest ears. Pippin was a much loved house rabbit who loved to eat carpet and sofa and walls but books were her absolute favourite. Often I would peer around the kitchen door to see her looking all "innocent" standing infront of a pile of gnawed books she'd pulled off of the bookcase.
She loved to follow me upsatirs and would always sit watching me from the kitchen door to see if I would give her food.
When my boyfriend left me after many years and I was devestated and crying on the sofa she hopped up next to me and lay down and we sat cuddling for hours as if she were trying to hug me better. She was a great friend.
She has been sick for a couple of weeks and today I found out she had a tumour on her kidney. There was little we could do and she was in such discomfort and pain so I had to give her her peace. I felt so sad when I had to move home because of my break-up and couldn't have her indoors anymore and all I wanted was to buy her a house to play in again but I will never be able to give her that now.
Pippin was only 2 years old, very short lived for a giant rabbit. She was gentle and friendly and mischievous and I loved her dearly and will always be sad that she was taken from me so soon.
Thinking of you with love
Not forgotten Pippen, now resting in a nice place in my garden with her auntie Poppy, lots of unnamed baby bunnies and gribbly plus other pets.
Rest in peace in your lovely place

Beyond the Rainbow
As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.
I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful -- lush and green and wide!
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be!
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do.
I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night.
'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.
For although we may not be together in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.
